Olivia Rawnsley is a London based artist who creates cut out paintings and sculptures. Activated by light, the works invite the viewer to investigate not only the imagery but how the paintings interact with the space around them.

Paintings: The cut out paintings use a variety of different techniques and methods. Process is central to Olivia’s practice as is her perception of what it is that constitutes a painting. Through her distinctive and explorative work Olivia attempts to dissolve traditional painting practices and make space for a new approach.

Sculptures: Combining form and function, Olivia creates illuminated sculptures from bronze, steel and copper. These works experiment with light and space and challenge the concept of what a sculpture is or could be. Using shapes and forms from nature the designs explore the use of negative and positive space and how they interact with the light.

Bespoke: Olivia also works directly with clients to create bespoke works. After a series of consultations, Olivia presents the client with proposals often based on their personal concept. The finished result is a collaboration of the client’s original vision and her artistic interpretation.
